2.2 Data collected automatically
Precise GPS location (foreground and background, with your permission)
Device information (model, operating system, app version)
Usage data (session duration, app opens, feature interactions)
Crash and performance data
Anonymised, aggregated location data derived from your GPS coordinates, used for analytics and internal improvement purposes. This data is irreversibly stripped of all personal identifiers before use.
2.3 Data from third-party sign-in
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers. We do not receive your password.
2.4 Device permissions
We request the following permissions:
Precise location (continuous) — to share your live location with friends during events
Precise location (non-continuous) — to show your position on the festival map
Background location — to maintain location sharing when the app is not in the foreground
Contacts — to help you find friends already using LUUP. Phone numbers are hashed before any comparison; raw numbers never leave your device
Camera — to set your profile picture
Photo library — to select a profile picture from your device
Motion sensors — to detect whether you are moving or stationary, used to optimise location update frequency
3. How We Use Your Data
Create and manage your account
Display your location to friends you have accepted on LUUP.
Help you find friends from your contacts who are already on LUUP.
Send push notifications about events, friend requests, and activity
Provide personalised festival information (lineup, map, announcements)
Generate anonymised, aggregated analytics to improve festival safety and experience, on the basis of our legitimate interest
Improve app performance and fix bugs
Comply with our legal obligations
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
Firebase Dynamic Links — deep linking (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland)
Google Analytics for Firebase — usage analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland)
Google OAuth — sign in with Google (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland)
Sign in with Apple — authentication (Apple Inc., United States)
Mapbox — festival maps (Mapbox Inc., United States)
Some services are located outside the European Union (Apple and Mapbox in the United States). Data transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently removed from our systems, including your profile, location history, and any associated content.

7. Minimum Age
LUUP. is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@luuppoint.com and we will delete the account.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Location data is transmitted over encrypted connections and is visible only to friends you have accepted on LUUP.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The date at the top of this document reflects the most recent update.
